Forecast Accuracy Comparisons for Indian Trail Weather

The first chart below compares the Mean Absolute Error (MAE) from the forecasts generated each day for the past year to the WxSim-Lite Mix percentage for the same period. The mean absolute error is an average of the absolute difference between the actual temperature and the forecasted temperature in WxSim forecasts. The WxSim-Lite Mix percentage is the amount of influence from bias-corrected model data in WxSim-Lite to be combined with the WxSim forecasting model to generate the forecast. The second chart adds the mean temperature values to evaluate the effect of temperature variations on the MAE.
